Musically inclined

I just realized that if I went back and read old posts I think I would sound stupid. For example, I remember that I have an old favorite song post from when my favorite songs were One Direction. Not such a fan two years later... I went to a fun. concert, as I probably mentioned, and recently, November 15th, I saw Macklemore in New York, which was amazing. So now, here are my current top ten favorite songs in no particular order.

  1. Pompeii by Bastille. This song is always stuck in my head, which I don't really mind. I love the intro and um everything else.
  2. Who We Are by Imagine Dragons. Easily my all time favorite artist, this song is off the Catching Fire soundtrack, making it even more awesome.
  3. The Gambler by fun. It's such a lovely song.
  4. Home by American Authors. You may think you've never heard them, but their song Best Day of my life is all over the radio. Home is different, and better.
  5. Power Hungry Animals. I'm not sure who it's by, but it's really good.
  6. Finding North by The Civil Wars. It's a really pretty song. They sing like violins.
  7. Lay Your Heartbreak. Again not sure by whom, but it's a great song none the less.
  8. In Our Youth by Jared and the Mill. No one knows them, yet, but they're truly amazing. Similar to Mumford and Sons.
  9. Scratch that, the whole freaking album of Jared and the Mill, Western Expansion, is #8 and #9
  10. Titanium 500 which is a mash up of I Will Walk by The Proclaimers and Titanium by David Guetta (ft. Sia) created by DJ Schmolli. I usually don't like remixes but this one is great.
That's all I got.
Peace out my children

Sorry I disappeared off the face of the planet...

Well yeah I haven't posted much since June or something because I was too busy having an amazing summer and living my life. I had a pretty freaking awesome summer, from Ocean City to Kentucky to Cape Ann to just chilling here at home. I went to Ocean City with Poodly of course, and our friend Richard or whatever I've called him on here was there for the first nights, which was awesome. I learned that I'm a WONDERFUL interpretive dancer... Poodly can back me up on that one. I LEARNED TO SURF!!!!!!! That was probably one of the highlights of the week, though everything was fun. By the end of the lesson, I was so tired I could barely push myself up to stand on the board. After Ocean City I was home for two weeks, where I got to go to Six Flags New England, which was insanely fun. I rode Bizarro 5 times, and then my first time on Batman I was in the front row. All of the rides there are awesome. Then I jumped into a van for fourteen hours and spent a week in Kentucky for the Appalachian Service Project, or ASP. ASP is an amazing project which helps families in Appalachia with home renovations in order to make them warmer, safer, and drier. My church goes every year, and this year there was only 13 of us, with two teams working with two separate families. On my families home, a trailer, we installed flooring and insulation. I was mostly on insulation. There was an insane mutt, named Spook, and five cats, Blue, Salem, Calico, Lily/Mama, and one who didn't have a name. Lily, or "Mama", had three adorable month old kittens. As careful as we were handling them and washing our hands, almost my whole team ended up getting ringworm then next month. The way it works it that each county or town the people we help are in has a center. We were in Knoxx County, and stayed on a college campus with 4 other churches. I branched out from our church more as the week went on, hanging out in the lobby instead of our sleeping space like the rest of the girls on my team did. I met some great people, including Laura, Troy,  Daniel, Tom, and some others. They were mostly guys, because the girls weren't very social. One of my best memories from there was one night in the lobby, when a big group of us, all from different states and churches, sat in a circle playing games like the story game where we all would say one word to make a story (it got pretty intense and Aunt Jemima ended up being a cannibal... Or was it Uncle Sam?) and my personal favorite, WA! Which is complicate to explain. The week went by too fast and I was sad to see it go. It ended with a sketchy motel in West Virginia, where I found pieces of black hair all over my pillow under the top cover. I came home and the next week, I went to a fun. concert!!!!!!!!!! That was unbelievably amazing, and I ate at a food truck called Gorilla Cheese. The next day I left for my family vacation to Cape Ann, where it was 60 and cloudy almost the whole time, but we still got to go into the ocean the first day when it was still sunny and the last day, when it was freezing but  my sister and I sucked it up and went in and got stuck in a current... But we knew what to do and got out quickly, which was good. It was still tons of fun despite the rain. August was pretty chill, and my favorite part was going zip lining and ropes courses in New York with my Girl Scouts troop. It was my second time going, and apparently I'm really good at it. I don't get scared because you can't fall off, you're always attached. Then, after two more weeks of freedom, I am back in school. I started at my agricultural school, which is a normal school, but tractor driving is a mandatory freshman course. If you're in the agriculture program, you take additional agricultural course. In two weeks, I get my tractor license :D I've made some great new friends, like Haley, Autumn, Hannah, DJ, Shannon, Sam, Sam, Luke, Dana, Sara, Gaby, and Charlie. The teachers are really nice, excluding my French teacher. I was placed in French 2 honors, but during scheduling something got screwed up, so I was put I. French 2 level 2, but now I'm switching into honors and will have a teacher who's not insane. I joined the Floriculture competition team as part of the FFA, so I'm working on plant identification after this post. I read House of Hades!!!!!!!!! I love it so much. The Cupid scene was beautiful. I can't wait till next fall when Blood of Olympus comes out. My new favorite movies are the X Men movies and Captain America. Since I have to wake up at five but can't always fall asleep at a reasonable hour, I discovered that I get extremely hyper from lack of sleep and now drink coffee every morning :D look out world.... Oooooooo I drew a wallaby!!!!! I was bored the other night because Modern Family or Adventure Time weren't on, which is like all I watch. I'll put some pictures in my next post. So yeah that's what you missed in my life and I'll probably be back soon.

Peace out Girl Scouts ✌

How the other half lives

So on Memorial Day I went to an open house for my new neighbors

Correction. On Memorial Day I toured an immaculate, magazine ready house IO have ever been in, which belongs to a family from the wealthiest area of the state who will reside in this house on some weekends.

They have four houses.

FOUR HOUSES.

Did that sink in for you yet?

If not...

FOUR FREAKING HOUSES

The family consists of the parents, a nine year old girl, a 13 year old boy (Who I have yet to meet :3) and a fifteen year old boy. (The brothers weren't at the open house because they had to study for final exams. Their private school ends in 4 days. #richkidprobs)

I was talking to the 9 year old, who for now will be called Abby (Not as in Richard's Abby Poodle) (who I hope I can steal the babysitting gigs for before my sisters) and I was complementing her room (which like all the rooms, was all white with color details) and she was asking me about my room. (Blue and green walls with a loft bed, if you're curious)

She asks "Do you have your own bathroom?"

Are. You. Kidding. Me.

The nine year old girl is asking me if I have my own bathroom because she does and that's what she's used to. Kid, I don't even have my own room.

A NINE YEAR OLD HAS HER OWN BATHROOM

Did I mention? Each kid had their own bathroom attached to their bedroom. In addition, the parents had a master bathroom and there was two extra bathrooms, one on each floor. That's six bathrooms. I have nine rooms in my whole house. wth.

This girl was amazed by my neighbors sheep. Who knows if she had ever even seen a sheep in real life before. By the time I was her age, I had seen, pet, held, and bottle fed sheep. Just the other day I had to help give a two day old sheep a shot and dock it's tail then make it drink because it's mother has the maternal instincts of a pineapple. (Whenever I've worked on the neighbors farm this last week, I've heard the baby bah-ing every so often because the mother will go into the orchard, leave the baby there, and forget about him/her. Again, a pineapple could do a better job.)

When I was trying to keep the kid at the open house entertained, we decided to play red light green light. We had to explain the game to the girl, which couldn't believe because in my town, that's all we did in grade school at recess. When I was talking to my sister, I said "She didn't know what red light green light is." my sister responded with. "Does she know what an iPad is?"

Overall, the family was very nice and I'm am glad to have new, friendly neighbors.
But still, four houses?!

I am Superman.

Today I went to Lake Compounce in CT and two of my friends and I went on Skycoaster, which is one of those ones where it brings you up 185 feet in a harness attached to cables and then lets go and you swing down over the park.

It's one of the most epic things I have done in my entire life (All 13 years, folks!!!)

My friends, Cass and Liv, went with me, and they were swearing the whole time... I was singing Vaya Des Fiestas, a song we sang in chorus...
The worst part was when we were almost at the top just waiting for them to give the okay, and also when they gave us strict directions but didn't tell us why...
But it was totally worth $15 and the wait and anticipation. I felt like I was flying. I remember yelling, "I am Superman" or something cheesy like that, but that is how great it felt. If I ever had any fear of heights, I am now cured. It was amazing.

It's funny how many people had stopped to watch us though. A ton of people from school had gone on, but everyone seemed interested in solely watching up. Kay and this kid Kyle both video taped it, then I found out random people had too. It was kind of strange, because we are not excessively popular, but I found it humorous.

This post is kind of lameeeeeee

So last night karate was awesome for a few reasons...
1. It was a sparring night.
2. I beat Jake in our sparring match
3. Matt brought his friend Steve to karate, who was cute rather cute quite cute very cute oh my gosh you should have seen this boy he was very attractive. He was nice too. And he could fight with style too.
3.5. It was funny because me, Matt, and Jake all have identical bruises on our right shins from clashing the same way. No one realized they weren't the only ones until we were all rubbing our shins.

I'm sooooooooooooooooooooooo hungry...

You know, I don't watch Adventure Time a lot, but once in awhile it will come on after I watch a movie of something, and it is just so weird it's almost compelling to watch. There was this one we=here they befriended a bear and it started living with Jake and Finn and like, tried to replace Finn of something... (I didn't get that far) On another note, the Pokemon tv series has caused the most epileptic seizures in history.

Still hungry, but there is not many satisfying snacks when you can't chew from braces.

I'm going to do something even less productive than this, after I "watch" a video for French... ;D
